Centaflex-A

Centaflex-A

Very versatile; in every aspect very flexible; free of backlash; adaptable; free of wear; numerous special designs, in particular, flexible universal joint shafts.

Application:
coupling for connecting existing drives, ideal for applications with misalignments, i.e. on diesel engines, specially for front power take off, gensets, compressors, pumps, boat drives etc.

Centaflex-B

Economical flexible shaft couplings, simple but high grade, axially fittable jaw coupling. Hub of high tensile steel, screwed jaws of precise aluminium die cast. Modifiable to suit individual applications, special designs are available, radially mountable, the element can be exchanged without disassembly of the coupled shafts.

Application:
for the connection of 2 shafts for all areas of general power transmission, i.e. between e-motor and gear, pumps especially those with radial dismountable medium part for pumping sets (DIN740) or used as flexible u/joint with any length up to 6m. Hubs available with finish bore, CENTALOC-clamping, or taper bushes.

Centafelx-D

Centafelx-D

The CENTAFLEX-D is a coupling of medium stiffness (torsional angle at rated torque of about 3-5°) which is usually used for drives with overcritical operation, i.e. the working speeds are above the main resonance speed. The secondary inertia therefore should not be too low. Such conditions are normally provided in drives for gen-sets, pumping sets, blowers etc. The coupling is suitable for flange mounted and non flange mounted sets. If the set is not flange-mounted, then the engine should not be placed on flexible mounts, because these get a permanent set as time passes and this results in greater misalignment. In this case, we recommend mounting both the engine and driven unit rigidly on a common frame and installing this on flexible mounts.

Application:
Diesel drives, gensets, pumps and similar drives with large transmittable torque. Classifications of various societies are available.

Centaflex-E

Centaflex-E

Simple and robust in design following the well proven design principles of the claw coupling with purely compression stressed rubber elements. Available with large allowable hub bores, various hublengths. Version "3" for radial exchange of rubbers without disassembly of the coupled shafts.

Application:
General application in industry for the connections two shafts.

Centaflex-H

Centaflex-H

Robust, plug-in, relatively stiff coupling, always undercritically dimensioned, resistant to oil and high temperatures. Series 4 with integrated connecting flange SAE 10, 11½ and 14 for diesel flywheels.

Application:
drive of flange mounted, well aligned hydraulic pumps on diesel engines - specially when using the wear-free CENTALOC-clamping; the ideal, well proven and reliable coupling for hydrostatic construction drives

torsionally very stiff design, free from play, but has bending elasticity and is axially and angularly flexible, resistant to oil and temperature.

Application:
well aligned drives for precise, free of play and angular accurate transmissions, e.g. on step motors, tachometer drives, hydraulic drives. Torsionally stiff u/joints.

Centamax

Centamax

Torsionally soft disc coupling with linear characteristics, widely used in flange or independently mounted generator sets. The outstanding technical advantage is the precompression between the input flange and the rubber disc, which makes it free of backlash. The CENTAMAX-B is the only one of its kind of design with this feature. The input flange is not made as a toothed cast aluminium ring, but it is made as a steel plate with a series of single bolted steel bushes, which engage with the teeth of the rubber disc under substantial precompression. Due to this backlash free, precompressed connection, the couplings are much more resistant to wear due to misalignment or torsional vibration especially when under low or no load conditions.

Application:
non flanged, independently mounted units for main propulsion or auxiliary drives, such as gensets, pumps, compressors of all kinds of front PTO. The units can be mounted either on flexible or rigid mounts

The couplings are torsionally very stiff (almost rigid) enabling drives of hydraulic pumps and similar equipment having low mass of inertia to operate below the critical speeds by moving these above the operating speed range thus providing a drive free of harmful resonances.

Application:
Hydrostatic construction drives, mainly in the middle and low power range, e.g.: excavators, vibratory rollers, loaders, cranes, dumpers, forklifts, concrete mixers and pumps, road finishers, rail vehicles, agricultural machines, tractors and small compressors.

Finally for quietness in a boat use CENTA highly flexible couplings with damping, which as a first step allow the use of flexible mountings for the engine. However this is normally not sufficient as a large part of the noise and vibration is passed into the body of the boat through the gear and the rigid coupling between the gear and the propeller shaft. Placing a CENTA highly flexible coupling between the gear and propeller shaft will complete the reduction of noise and vibration. The noise reduction achieved will be up to 5 dBA, that means a reduction of up to a third.

The couplings are electrically insulating and therefore give protection from electrolysis damage.
